THE BRIDGE

The inspiration for this album came from the kindness and comfort given to our brother in law and his family by the staff of the hospice, “Cancer Bridge”, near Hexham in Northumberland. During the last year of his fight against cancer the efforts of everyone in the establishment were so appreciated that there was a real feeling of need to, “put something back”. After writing the words for the title track “The Bridge”, it was a short step to collate a selection of pleasant songs which would , hopefully, give pleasure to as many people as possible to the extent that they would buy this CD for their collection. We gave the hospice 200 copies to sell for their own funds and after covering the printing costs we will pass on a percentage of the profit from all other sales. On this album, my daughter Laura joined me and we also had the assistance of one of Belfast’s finest musicians, Laurie Johnston. Many thanks to you Laurie.
