Strathglass and the neighbouring Glens are a paradise for the landscape artist with their magnificent woodland, lochs, mountains and ever changing light.

At Upper Glassburn overlooking the River Glass, Ishbel Strachan has a small studio where in addition to creating her own works in a variety of mediums, other local artists regularly meet to work together and exchange ideas. Ishbel, originally from Evanton, began painting a few years ago when she and her husband decided to retire early from business. Painting now fills all her spare time.

"Having always been interested in creative crafts when the opportunity arose to join a local art class I jumped at the chance and have not looked back since."

At the Studio there is an ever changing small exhibition of work by local artists on view and for sale. This is often a good opportunity to take away unique and lasting souvenirs of a holiday in the area.
