Northern Constabulary

Northern Constabulary is the force responsible for policing in Strathglass. The force Area Command Headquarters are in Inverness but there are a number of small police stations around the area. These offices are not staffed on a 24 hour basis, all telephone calls being automatically transferred to Inverness HQ when no one is on duty or officers are on patrol.

Health Services

NHS Highland provide health care throughout the Highlands. Raigmore Hospital in Inverness provides full Accident & Emergency services. There are medical practices in both Beauly and Drumnadrochit. Local surgeries are held in Cannich by visiting doctors on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The nearest pharmacy is situated in Beauly.

NHS 24 offers both an on-line and telephone based service answering calls regarding health matters and offering advice. You can contact them at any time for advice. When the GP surgeries listed above are closed (evenings, weekends and public holidays), calls are automatically forwarded to NHS 24. If NHS 24 staff feel it is appropriate then they will arrange for patients to see a doctor during the out of hours period. This may mean the patient having to travel to an out of hours centre.
